Overview

CardSwitchr is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data, do not permanently store your financial information, and never sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address for authentication and session management purposes.

Financial Information

When you use our calculator, you may upload a bank statement for analysis. This data is used solely to provide the service and generate your rewards comparison. We do not permanently store your bank statement or transaction data. Once your session ends, this information is no longer retained.

Usage Information

We automatically collect certain information when you visit or use our services, including page views, feature usage, and interaction data. This information helps us understand how our services are used and improve the user experience. Usage data does not include your financial or transaction information.

Device and Browser Information

We may collect information about the device and browser you use to access our services, including IP address, browser type, and operating system. This information is used for security, fraud prevention, and service optimization.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your session
  • To analyze your uploaded statement and generate rewards comparisons
  • To monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to help us operate and improve our services. These providers may have access to your information only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We do not share your transaction or financial data with analytics, advertising, or marketing services.

Statement processing: When you upload a PDF bank statement, the document is sent to a third-party AI service for transaction extraction and categorization. Only the information needed to identify transactions (merchant names, amounts, and dates) is used. For CSV uploads, only ambiguous merchant descriptions and amounts are sent to the AI service for categorization — no account numbers or personal identifiers are transmitted. These providers process data on our behalf and do not retain your financial information after processing is complete.

Categories of service providers: Authentication services, AI transaction processing services, analytics services (usage data only, not financial data), email delivery services, and hosting infrastructure.

Data Retention

Your bank statement and transaction data is processed temporarily during your active session and is not permanently stored. We retain your email address for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may earn affiliate commissions when you apply for a credit card through links on our site — see our Affiliate Disclosure for details. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and analytics. Our affiliate partners may also use cookies to track referrals when you click "Apply Now" links. You can manage your cookie preferences through the cookie consent banner on our site or through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect service functionality.

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
